The story
Two lifelong best friends face separation as they graduate high school and prepare for different futures. Their last night together takes a turn when they discover a mysterious portal leading to the fantastical island of Nakali. The island is filled with magical and mythological creatures from their Filipino heritage, setting the stage for an emotional and adventurous journey.
The film is written and directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, with production by Mark Swift. Grammy and Academy Award-winning H.E.R. and Liza Soberano star as Jo and Raissa, the two friends at the heart of the story.
