Cookie Policy

Short version
On your first visit we ask, via a banner at the bottom of the page, whether we can turn on Google Analytics 4. If you Refuse, GA4 is never loaded and no _ga cookies are set. If you Accept, we load Google Analytics and it sets two first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_Y4HTN52YEW).
Vercel Web Analytics runs on every page regardless of your choice, because it is cookieless and produces only aggregate metrics — it cannot identify individual visitors.
Because it sets no cookies and reads nothing from your device, Vercel Web Analytics does not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive. It runs on the basis of our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in measuring aggregate traffic, and processes only a short-lived daily hash that cannot be traced back to an individual.
Your choice is stored locally on your device in localStorage under the key clipraptor-consent. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
Cookies that are set only if you Accept
_ga — first-party analytics cookie set by Google Analytics 4. Purpose: distinguish unique browsers. Retention: ~2 years from last visit. No personal identifiers.
_ga_Y4HTN52YEW — first-party analytics cookie tied to our GA4 property. Purpose: preserve session state. Retention: ~2 years from last visit.
If you clicked Accept and later change your mind, use the Reset button below — it removes both cookies and hides the banner until you re-answer. You can also opt out of Google Analytics on all sites at once by installing the official browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Change your choice
Clicking Reset below re-opens the cookie banner so you can pick again. If you had previously accepted, the _ga cookies are also removed at that moment.
Local storage
The site may use your browser's local storage in the future to remember non-personal preferences (for example, a language or theme choice). Local storage stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
You can clear local storage at any time from your browser settings — the site will keep working normally.
Third-party requests
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Article images may be loaded from the original news source. The GA4 script is loaded from googletagmanager.com and pings google-analytics.com. Your browser makes standard HTTP requests to each of these hosts (which include your IP address).
