Acer Debuts First Googlebook
Acer launched the Googlebook 14, its first convertible laptop designed for Google’s new AI-driven OS, featuring premium hardware, 16-hour battery life, and deep integration with Android workflows.
Acer introduced the Googlebook 14, marking the company’s entry into a new category of premium laptops optimized for Google’s AI platform. The device is the first convertible laptop from Acer built for the Googlebook OS, which integrates Gemini Intelligence to assist users across touch, voice, stylus, and traditional inputs. The laptop is engineered to enhance productivity and creativity through context-aware actions, offering personalized assistance within Google apps and Android-based workflows. Acer positioned the device as a bridge between traditional computing and AI-driven experiences, emphasizing its role in a long-standing partnership with Google spanning 15 years.
The Googlebook 14 is powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 355 with a dedicated NPU delivering up to 50 TOPS, paired with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe storage. The laptop features a 14-inch 3K OLED display with 500-nit brightness, touch support, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection, alongside dual upward-facing stereo speakers tuned by DTS. Its convertible design includes 360-degree hinges for four usage modes, a 13.9mm thin chassis weighing 1.14kg, and a battery rated for up to 16 hours of use.
Connectivity options include Intel Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, Thunderbolt 4, and dual USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, complemented by a 5MP noise-reducing camera with a privacy shutter and a triple microphone array for conferencing. Security features include a biometric fingerprint reader and the Google Titan-C Security Chip, while the chassis is constructed from an aluminum-magnesium blend with a Glowbar indicator for battery status. The device also incorporates sustainability measures, such as 49% circular materials and 99% plastic-free packaging, earning EPEAT Climate+ and Energy Star 9.0 certifications.
The Acer Googlebook 14 (GP714-91N) will launch in North America and EMEA in October 2026, with pricing starting at USD 899 and EUR 1,199 respectively, followed by Australia in November 2026 at AUD 2,599. The laptop includes 12 months of Google AI Pro, providing expanded access to Gemini features and 5TB of cloud storage.
