Amazon Web Services announced the expansion of Amazon CloudWatch Omni to eight additional regions, bringing its AI-powered observability platform to Canada (Central), Asia Pacific (Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo), Europe (Frankfurt, London), and South America (São Paulo). The service unifies telemetry data from AWS accounts, regions, and other cloud providers such as Azure and GCP into a single view, allowing teams to monitor and troubleshoot applications from one location. CloudWatch Omni integrates OpenTelemetry for interoperability and leverages CloudWatch’s scalability to provide automated service discovery, dependency mapping, and golden metrics surfacing.

The observability experience supports multiple interaction methods, including chat, point-and-click navigation, and an Agent Toolkit for AWS to build dynamic views and identify root causes. A dedicated agent observability workflow is available for frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, Vercel AI SDK, and Strands, enabling developers to evaluate and debug agent-based applications efficiently. Users can access CloudWatch Omni through a standalone web interface with single sign-on or via local IDE extensions for VS Code, Cursor, and Kiro.

To begin using CloudWatch Omni, customers must create an Omni space from the CloudWatch console, configure single sign-on, and sign in. Agent developers can install the free CloudWatch Omni extension for supported IDEs to streamline development and debugging workflows. The service is now operational in 11 regions, including previously supported US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Ireland).

AWS provides detailed documentation and pricing information on the Amazon CloudWatch Omni product page and pricing page, respectively. The expansion aims to enhance cross-cloud and cross-account monitoring capabilities, offering teams a centralized platform for observability and troubleshooting across diverse environments.
