8 New TV Shows to Watch This Weekend on Netflix, HBO Max, and Apple TV (September 11-13)
Streaming services debut new seasons of DC’s Krypto Saves the Day, Netflix’s Made in Korea and Crew Girl, and BBC’s Call the Midwife on September 11–13.
The second season of The Paper returns, following the same documentary crew from The Office as they document novice journalists at the struggling Toledo Truth Teller newspaper in Ohio. The series expands the universe established in the original show, focusing on volunteer reporters attempting to revive a fading publication in the Midwest. Production continues to follow Oscar Martinez as he transitions to the new project.
DC’s animated series Krypto Saves the Day returns for a second season, featuring short episodes set in Metropolis where Superman appears regularly. The new season includes adventures in outer space and appearances by Supergirl, Lobo, and other DC characters. Each episode lasts a few minutes and will be included as special features with home editions of James Gunn’s Superman film.
Made in Korea, an Australian series set in the 1970s, follows a KCIA agent who secretly works as a smuggler and drug trafficker while being pursued by a dedicated prosecutor. The cat-and-mouse narrative explores themes of corruption and justice during the era. The series is one of several international productions debuting this weekend.
Crew Girl, Netflix’s latest young adult drama, centers on Teagan, a competitive rower from a wealthy family who relocates with her mother after a financial fraud scandal involving her father. The series explores themes of resilience and reinvention as Teagan adjusts to life in a new town. It joins other Netflix offerings like Stolen Heartbeats and Call the Midwife Season 15.
