Expanding Asset Discovery: Atlassian Announces Collaboration Agreement with Flexera
Atlassian and Flexera will integrate Flexera’s Technopedia asset data into Atlassian Service Collection to enhance real-time IT asset discovery and contextual service management for enterprises.
Atlassian and Flexera announced a collaboration to address gaps in enterprise IT asset discovery by integrating Flexera’s Technopedia—a verified repository of hardware and software product data—into Atlassian Service Collection. The move targets environments with multi-cloud infrastructure, hybrid work endpoints, and rapid SaaS adoption, where traditional ITSM tools struggle to maintain accurate, real-time asset context. By embedding Technopedia’s curated metadata on lifecycle status, end-of-life dates, and manufacturer details directly into Jira Service Management and Assets, the integration aims to reduce manual data entry and improve service delivery efficiency.
The partnership leverages Atlassian Service Collection, built on the Teamwork Graph, which maps over 250 billion connections across teams, tickets, code, services, and infrastructure. When combined with Atlassian Rovo and AI agents, the integration enables proactive incident resolution, risk assessment for changes, and optimization of software spend by providing authoritative asset context within workflows. This shift moves service management from reactive ticket resolution to AI-native, context-driven operations that anticipate dependencies and surface actionable insights in real time.
Flexera’s Technopedia will be directly accessible within Jira Service Management and Assets, offering enterprise customers immediate access to verified product data such as lifecycle status, support milestones, and application categories. The integration eliminates the need for teams to manually assemble context from disparate sources, reducing delays in service delivery and minimizing risks associated with outdated or fragmented asset information. Atlassian highlighted this update during Team ’26 Europe, its annual user conference, where additional AI-driven service management announcements were also unveiled.
The collaboration responds to persistent challenges in enterprise IT, where 97% of leaders struggle to meet service expectations due to lost productivity and reactive workflows, according to Forrester Consulting. Meanwhile, cloud adoption continues to surge, with 37% of enterprises reporting annual cloud spend exceeding $12 million in a 2021 Flexera survey, underscoring the need for robust asset intelligence to secure and optimize cloud environments.
