The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released its new strategy, CISA 2030: Defend, Harden, Prevail, aligning with President Trump’s Cyber Strategy for America and the National Resilience Strategy. The plan addresses a rapidly evolving threat landscape where nation-state actors and malicious adversaries increasingly target U.S. networks. CISA aims to proactively identify, disrupt, and eliminate adversarial access while hardening critical infrastructure against emerging threats.

CISA Acting Director Nick Andersen urged immediate action from critical infrastructure stakeholders, including owners, operators, vendors, and technology manufacturers. The strategy provides a roadmap to strengthen defenses, eliminate adversarial footholds, and deny threats any advantage that could jeopardize national security, the economy, or public health. It also reaffirms CISA’s role in leading National Security and Emergency Preparedness communications, as delegated by the Department of Homeland Security.

The strategy acknowledges the growing intersection of cyber, physical, and geopolitical threats that disrupt essential services. CISA will collaborate with public and private partners to enhance operational technology security, advance software security, support emerging technologies, and improve continuity of critical communications. The agency will shift from passive defense to an aggressive, anticipatory stance focused on mitigating malicious access to critical infrastructure.

CISA 2030 delivers a clear roadmap to advance the agency’s mission of securing the nation’s digital and physical infrastructure. As the national coordinator for critical infrastructure security, CISA leads efforts to manage, uncover, and reduce risks to infrastructure Americans depend on daily. Additional details and updates are available on CISA.gov and through its social media channels.
