Lenovo, FIFA’s Official Technology Partner, provided devices, infrastructure, and AI solutions to support the largest sporting event in history, spanning 16 cities across three countries, 48 teams, and 104 matches. The company deployed over 25,000 Lenovo and Motorola devices managed by more than 350 engineers across 600 FIFA sites, achieving 99.99% uptime in all solutions. This integrated ecosystem supported FIFA operations, global broadcasts, team analysis, officiating technology, and fan experiences at an unprecedented scale.
One of Lenovo’s key contributions was FIFA AI Pro, an AI-driven analytics platform used by all 48 teams to access tournament data and performance metrics. The platform analyzed over 2,000 metrics and delivered insights in 16 languages through reports, graphs, and 3D match recreations. Built on Lenovo’s AI Factory and enterprise AI capabilities, it enabled coaches and analysts to query match footage in natural language, democratizing advanced football intelligence for teams of all resource levels.
Lenovo also introduced Referee View, an AI-powered broadcast innovation that provided fans with a first-person referee perspective using stabilized, real-time video. The technology reduced camera jitter by up to 60% and delivered high-quality live feeds, with 87% of fans reporting improved viewing experiences. The feature generated over 20 billion impressions during the tournament, including the opening goal, enhancing storytelling and fan engagement through AI-driven transparency.
Behind the scenes, Lenovo’s Intelligent Command Center served as FIFA’s centralized operational hub, aggregating data from over 40 functional areas to coordinate venues, security, ticketing, and logistics across three countries. The platform supported near real-time IPTV delivery with six-second latency to over 1,000 screens, while 3D digital avatars of 1,248 players aided officiating through Semi-Automated Offside Technology replays, improving transparency for fans and officials.
