Claude in Foundry offers leading capabilities for coding, agentic workflows, and complex reasoning, while Foundry provides tools for building, evaluating, deploying, and scaling agents on Azure. Developers can access Claude through the Messages API, utilizing features such as prompt caching, extended thinking, and tool streaming. The service supports both Global and US data zones, with Anthropic operating inference and acting as the data processor and SLA provider.
For commercial teams, Claude usage is billed in Claude Consumption Units (CCU), consolidated on the Azure bill, simplifying procurement and cost management. Enterprises benefit from zero data retention options for high-sensitivity workloads, ensuring prompts and completions are not retained by Anthropic post-API call. The integration aligns with enterprise requirements for security, compliance, governance, and data residency, providing a trusted path to production AI.
The collaboration leverages NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra systems with InfiniBand networking for inference performance and efficiency.
