Mistral AI is expanding its AI services to enhance regional control and compliance for enterprises and governments. The company now offers Mistral Regional Endpoints, allowing customers to choose whether inference runs in Europe or the US, aligning with data-residency and regulatory needs. Processing occurs within the selected region, with limited safeguarded transfers permitted. This initiative addresses concerns about data location and latency for mission-critical workloads.

To ensure reliability, Mistral introduced a Mistral Priority Tier in public preview, providing committed service levels for high-demand applications. This tier includes custom rate limits and an uptime SLA, offering dependable access to capacity during peak demand. Mistral is the only European AI lab offering both regional processing choice and SLA-backed service levels, reinforcing its commitment to operational control and resilience.

Mistral is broadening access to open models, including third-party options like Z.ai’s GLM-5.2, which will run on the same infrastructure and under the same regional controls as Mistral’s own models. This expansion supports customers who require adaptable, transparent AI systems for mission-critical tasks. The company also contributes to initiatives like the Open Secure AI Alliance and NVIDIA Nemotron Coalition to promote open and secure AI development.

To secure long-term AI compute capacity in Europe, Mistral is forming a coalition with enterprises through European Compute Units (ECUs). These commitments will fund up to 1 GW of capacity by 2030, ensuring scalable and sovereign infrastructure. Participants gain multi-year access to Mistral’s infrastructure, supporting their evolving AI needs while reducing fragmentation and dependency on external actors.
