The useful question is what changes for users, developers or buyers, and whether the announcement stays industry context or becomes something people can actually use.
Paramount announced the creation of Paramount Games Studio, a new unified gaming division integrating Skydance Games and Paramount’s existing studios. The studio will focus on transforming Paramount’s intellectual property into immersive gaming experiences. Tony Driscoll, previously EVP of Corporate Strategy and Development, has been named President of the new division. Driscoll brings over two decades of experience in entertainment and gaming, including roles at Epic Games and Disney, to oversee the studio’s strategic direction.
The studio aims to treat gaming as a core pillar of Paramount’s content strategy alongside film, television, and streaming. Driscoll emphasized the goal of building enduring franchises and fan communities that extend beyond individual games. He highlighted the potential of the creator economy and AI tools to democratize game development, allowing broader participation in interactive entertainment. The studio will leverage Paramount’s extensive IP portfolio to create experiences that deepen fan engagement and drive long-term growth.
Driscoll is joined by a leadership team with extensive experience in AAA game development, publishing, and entertainment. Dan Prigg will serve as Executive Vice President, Head of Games, while Shawn Kittelsen will lead Creative & Production. Andrea Silvers will oversee Marketing and Communications, Kara Bilkiss will manage Business Development & Licensing, and Ray Davis will lead Engineering. The team’s combined expertise is intended to strengthen the studio’s development and publishing capabilities.
Paramount Games Studio will prioritize creating high-quality games that serve as foundations for fan communities. Driscoll noted that successful franchises require meaningful experiences to foster engagement. The studio plans to explore opportunities in the creator economy and AI-driven development, aiming to expand interactive entertainment beyond traditional constraints. Updates on game releases and transmedia experiences will be shared across Paramount’s social media platforms.
