Dave the Diver has now sold more than 10 million copies, Mintrocket 'can't wait to share our future plans'

Dave the Diver, the deep sea exploration and restaurant management game by developer Mintrocket, has surpassed 10 million copies sold across all platforms. The game's expansion, In the Jungle, released in June, has also sold over one million copies. Mintrocket highlighted the sustained popularity of the title, noting its strong reviews and continued updates as key factors in its success. The studio expressed gratitude for player support and teased future franchise expansions.

The game first launched in 2023 and quickly became a commercial success, selling over a million copies in its first 10 days. It earned a 91% review score from PC Gamer, one of the outlet’s rare high scores. Despite a nomination for Best Indie Game at The Game Awards 2023, Mintrocket clarified it is not an indie studio, as it is a division of Nexon. The controversy had minimal impact on the game’s reception.

Mintrocket announced plans to expand the Dave the Diver universe with Bancho the Chef, a cooking simulation adventure spin-off. The game follows Bancho, the chef from Dave’s restaurant, in his younger years as he trains to become a sushi master. A release date has not been set, but the game is available for pre-purchase on Steam.

Game director Jaeho Hwang emphasized the studio’s excitement over the franchise’s growth and player enthusiasm. The team described the milestone as a testament to the game’s enduring appeal and quality. Mintrocket reiterated its commitment to evolving the franchise with new content and experiences for fans.
