'The PC platform is becoming more and more important,' Take-Two chief says, as we continue to wonder when we're going to get GTA 6
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged the growing importance of the PC platform during the company’s annual meeting but declined to commit to a PC release timeline for GTA 6.
Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two Interactive’s chairman and CEO, addressed questions about GTA 6’s PC release during the company’s annual shareholders meeting. When asked about potential delays due to PlayStation 5 Pro shortages, Zelnick emphasized that the company’s strategy prioritizes platforms with meaningful audiences, noting the PC’s increasing significance to Take-Two. However, he did not provide a timeline for GTA 6’s PC launch, leaving the game’s PC exclusivity unresolved.
Zelnick’s remarks followed earlier statements in May, where he acknowledged that PC sales can account for up to half of total revenue for major releases. Despite this, he reiterated that GTA 6 will debut on consoles, framing the decision as a focus on serving core consumers. The contradiction between acknowledging PC’s importance and excluding it from GTA 6’s launch has drawn criticism from PC gamers.
During the meeting, Zelnick also addressed GTA Online, clarifying that GTA 6 is designed as a single-player experience. He confirmed that GTA 5 Online remains a strong business for Take-Two and will continue to receive support. Speculation about GTA 6’s multiplayer release timeline persists, though its source remains unclear.
GTA 6 is confirmed for a November 19 launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Take-Two has not announced a PC release date, despite Zelnick’s acknowledgment of the platform’s growing importance to the company’s strategy.
