Zero Parades: Director's Cut will challenge you to drive a stolen truck through a busy roundabout while stoned out of your mind
Studio ZA/UM announced a free Director's Cut update for Zero Parades: For Dead Spies, arriving October 1 with new content, a PlayStation 5 launch on November 3, and a chaotic roundabout escape sequence.
Studio ZA/UM has announced Zero Parades: Director's Cut, a free major update arriving October 1 as part of the espionage RPG’s post-launch support. The update includes roughly 40,000 words of new content, a new encounter, and various improvements and fixes, expanding the original release’s narrative and gameplay. The update will also serve as the game’s PlayStation 5 launch on November 3, marking its debut on the platform.
The update’s centerpiece is Quisach Roundabout, a new encounter described as a high-stakes escape sequence where players drive a stolen tuk-tuk while intoxicated, navigating a busy roundabout to avoid existential consequences. The scenario involves Hershel and Ramses attempting to take the correct exit under the influence, with failure potentially leading to fatal outcomes. This sequence is framed as a dramatic and chaotic challenge within the game’s narrative structure.
Additional features include a new "backstage mode" offering technical insights into development, cut content, and stories from art director Kaspar Tamsalu, alongside new clothing options, interactions, death screens, and atmospheric additions. Quality of life improvements are also included, though specific details about these enhancements were not elaborated in the announcement.
The Director's Cut follows the studio’s July layoffs of up to 32 employees, which were attributed in part to the muted reception of Zero Parades compared to its critically acclaimed predecessor. The update represents a second chance for the game, arriving just four months after launch and offering expanded content to current owners at no additional cost.
