LONGi unveils intelligent manufacturing base in Suzhou to advance solar-storage integration
LONGi opened an intelligent manufacturing base in Suzhou to integrate solar and storage production, with planned annual capacities of 50 GWh by 2027 and over 10,000 C&I units by late 2026.
LONGi inaugurated its Energy Storage Intelligent Manufacturing Base in Suzhou High-Tech Zone on October 9, marking a strategic expansion of its ‘LONGi ONE’ initiative into manufacturing. The facility will produce utility-scale, commercial and industrial (C&I), and microgrid storage products for both domestic and international markets. Its utility-scale storage line is projected to reach 31 GWh annually by October 2026 and scale to 50 GWh by the first half of 2027. The C&I line aims for over 10,000 units produced per year by the end of October 2026.
The base integrates digital and intelligent systems to enhance manufacturing efficiency and traceability. Between September and November 2026, the facility will complete a full upgrade of its MES system and deploy a lightweight MOM platform powered by MES, BI, and AI. The platform will connect ERP, WMS, and RCS systems to enable automatic production planning, real-time equipment monitoring, and full-chain material traceability. Lean KPIs covering Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale will be visualized for operational oversight.
Digital tools such as intelligent AGV scheduling, digital warehousing, and predictive maintenance are being implemented to streamline material distribution and equipment management. Digital closed-loop quality management is expected to reduce the time to resolve quality issues by more than 50%. The base will also introduce AR glasses for on-site guidance and AI-powered early warning systems to further enhance operational precision and responsiveness.
LONGi emphasizes continuous improvement through a company-wide Kaizen mechanism, optimizing production line layouts, takt times, and 5S visual management. The integration of digital management and intelligent technologies aims to transition manufacturing from experience-driven to data-driven decision-making. The base’s advanced processes are designed to improve cost competitiveness while maintaining stable production operations.
