At Galaxy Unpacked July 2026 in London, Samsung Electronics presented its vision for a shift from reactive treatment to preventive, personalized health supported by connected technology and ecosystem partnerships. Dr. Hon Pak, Samsung’s Senior Vice President of Digital Health, highlighted a paradox: despite widespread health tracking, chronic diseases continue rising globally. He identified two critical gaps—Samsung aims to close both through continuous monitoring and actionable support.
Samsung Health and Samsung Food are integrating to address nutrition, where behavior change science replaces mere tracking. Kartik Poria, Head of Product at Samsung Food, described how the platform learns user habits to make healthier choices easier, even on busy nights. The focus is on reducing the gap between knowing and doing, particularly in meal planning and dietary decisions.
Exercise was framed as foundational to wellbeing, with Samsung Health partnering with iFIT to provide expert-led programs. Kevin Duffy, CEO of iFIT, emphasized the role of guided movement in cardiovascular health, stress management, and sustainable habit-building. The collaboration aims to integrate connected insights with structured exercise routines for broader accessibility.
Samsung addressed clinical credibility and privacy, noting challenges in integrating wearable data into routine care. Rohit Ail of Samsung R&D UK outlined efforts to generate clinical evidence through real-world studies, including partnerships with NHS and hospitals in Spain and Italy. Samsung also reaffirmed its commitment to user data ownership and GDPR compliance, positioning itself as a custodian of health information.
