AI Gateway for Advertising: Governed AI Agents
Snowflake launches AI Gateway for Advertising in preview, integrating Meta and TikTok via governed MCP to unify cross-channel signals with enterprise data for real-time campaign optimization.
Marketing teams increasingly rely on AI agents to diagnose performance and adjust campaigns in real time, but fragmented workflows and conflicting metrics hinder effectiveness. Snowflake’s AI Gateway for Advertising, now in preview, addresses this by connecting live platform signals—such as delivery and catalog health—with enterprise context like business definitions and historical performance. The integration uses governed Model Context Protocol (MCP) links to Meta and TikTok, enabling agents to reason across data sources and recommend actions under human oversight.
The AI Gateway leverages Snowflake’s 2026 acquisition of Natoma’s enterprise MCP platform to enable cross-channel reasoning. Agents can analyze live performance alongside transaction history, inventory, and KPIs like ROAS to diagnose issues and propose bounded optimizations, such as budget adjustments, with full audit trails. Campaign managers review and approve each step, ensuring transparency and alignment with business goals.
In a retail example, an AI agent identified a ROAS decline by correlating platform metrics with Snowflake data, recommending a 20% budget reduction for a prospecting ad set while preserving a high-LTV converting cohort. The action and rationale were logged in a shared record, streamlining handoffs between teams and reducing multi-day investigations to minutes.
Snowflake’s Cortex AI provides a unified semantic layer over billion-row datasets, allowing natural language queries and agent-driven insights. The AI Gateway extends this by enabling live campaign adjustments within the Alli platform, turning analyst findings into actionable decisions during active campaigns. Additional platforms are expected to integrate soon, expanding the system’s cross-channel capabilities.
