The United Kingdom has strongly condemned recent Houthi attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including strikes on King Khalid Airport, describing the escalation as reckless and appalling. The UK expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and announced the adoption of a UN Security Council presidential statement reaffirming condemnation of Houthi actions. The statement underscores international unity in opposing such attacks and their destabilising impact on the region.

Marking three years since the Hamas attacks of 7 October 2023, the UK reiterated its condemnation of the violence and offered condolences to victims and families affected. The statement highlighted the human toll, including the story of Eliya Cohen, held captive for 505 days, and his wife Ziv Abud, as a reminder of the need to end cycles of violence. The UK reaffirmed its commitment to the two-state solution as the only viable path to lasting peace for Israelis and Palestinians.

A year after the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2803, the UK acknowledged progress but noted ongoing challenges in Gaza, where an average of four people, including over 300 children, are killed daily since the ceasefire. Civilians face dire conditions, including lack of shelter, flooding, open sewage, and a collapsing health system, with critical aid supplies blocked from entry.

The UK, alongside Jordan and Qatar, launched a Call to Action during UN High-Level Week, demanding Israel facilitate scaled-up humanitarian aid and remove restrictions on essential supplies. The UK reiterated that Hamas must decommission weapons, dismantle terrorist infrastructure, and transition governance in line with Resolution 2803, while stressing the need for political progress toward reunifying Gaza and the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority.
