Celebrating the Next Generation of Latin American Game Creators
Xbox highlights Latin American game creators through the ID@XBOX Developer Acceleration Program and the inaugural XBOX Game Camp Mexico City, showcasing six upcoming culturally distinct titles.
Xbox is spotlighting Latin American game developers through initiatives like the ID@XBOX Developer Acceleration Program, which has supported over 60 studios across nine countries since 2023. The program has helped bring more than 30 culturally distinctive games to Xbox platforms, providing technical resources, business support, and mentorship to strengthen the region’s game development ecosystem. These efforts aim to amplify diverse voices and foster collaboration among creators of all sizes.
The inaugural XBOX Game Camp Mexico City, launching on October 17 alongside Xbox FanFest, will celebrate Mexico’s game development community and offer learning opportunities for local studios. The event will feature seminars, keynotes, and fireside chats with industry leaders, including Jens Bergensten of Mojang Studios, to explore collaboration and community-building in game development. The program will connect developers with Xbox professionals and peers to expand their networks and industry knowledge.
Six upcoming games from Latin American creators are highlighted, including *Mariachi Legends*, a Metroidvania blending Mexican folklore and combat with a culinary mechanic tied to Day of the Dead traditions. The game’s development was supported by the ID@XBOX program, which provided technical and marketing resources, including Xbox Play Anywhere and Game Pass exposure. The studio emphasized the game’s cultural authenticity and challenging gameplay as core pillars of its design.
Additional titles include *Colorbound*, a puzzle-platformer using color mechanics to reflect Andean culture, and *Sky Dust*, a Brazilian cyberpunk action-adventure set in a dystopian São Paulo. Both games received financial and technical support from the ID@XBOX program, enabling polished releases on Xbox and Windows. The initiatives aim to showcase the region’s creative diversity and provide platforms for these stories to reach global audiences.
