Amazon SES now supports open and click tracking override parameters

Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) has introduced support for open and click tracking override parameters in the SendEmail and SendBulkEmail APIs. This update enables senders to enable or disable tracking on a per-request basis, eliminating the need to maintain separate configuration sets for different tracking preferences. Previously, tracking behavior was managed exclusively through configuration sets, which required additional setup for each combination of settings.
The new capability allows senders to specify tracking preferences directly in the API request, reducing administrative overhead and streamlining compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR and CNIL guidance. This is particularly useful for organizations that must honor recipient-level consent choices, as it removes the need to create and manage multiple configuration sets for varying tracking requirements.
Tracking overrides apply at the time of the request and take precedence over any settings defined in the associated configuration set, providing granular control without altering existing configurations. This feature does not incur additional costs and is designed to integrate seamlessly with current SES workflows, ensuring minimal disruption to established processes.
