AWS Billing and Cost Management (BCM) has introduced Managed Dashboards, a set of five preconfigured, read-only dashboards accessible directly in the dashboard list. These dashboards populate with your account data automatically, eliminating the need for manual configuration. Each dashboard is designed to deliver immediate cost insights tailored to specific areas of spending and resource usage. The dashboards are maintained by AWS and updated continuously to reflect the latest account activity and cost trends.

The Cost Overview & Trends dashboard tracks spending patterns across services, accounts, and regions over the past 12 months, including forward-looking forecasts to help anticipate future costs. The Compute and Database dashboards provide detailed spend breakdowns within their respective service categories, alongside commitment coverage and utilization metrics in a single view. These dashboards are intended to help users quickly identify cost drivers and optimize resource allocation without additional setup.

The Reservations and Savings Plans dashboards evaluate the performance of purchased commitments, such as Reserved Instances or Savings Plans, across eligible services. They quantify gaps and underutilization in monetary terms, enabling users to assess the effectiveness of their cost-saving strategies. All managed dashboards are read-only, ensuring data integrity while allowing users to duplicate any dashboard to create fully editable custom copies for deeper analysis.

Managed Dashboards are available at no additional cost in all commercial AWS Regions. Users can access them through the AWS Billing and Cost Management console under the Dashboards section or refer to the user guide for detailed instructions. The feature is designed to support both new and experienced users in gaining cost visibility quickly, enabling faster decision-making and alignment with FinOps best practices.
