AWS Marketplace now supports category-based notifications and multi-channel delivery for partners
AWS Marketplace partners can now route notifications by category and channel, replacing a single inbox with targeted delivery via email, mobile app, or chat platforms.
AWS Marketplace partners previously received all notifications in a single inbox, with no ability to filter or direct alerts to relevant teams. The new system allows partners to assign specific notification categories to designated contacts and delivery methods. Four categories are supported: product listings, offers and agreements, payments and disbursements, and account management. Each category covers distinct operational tasks, from security scans to billing adjustments, ensuring teams receive only the alerts they need.
Partners can now configure delivery channels beyond email, including the AWS Console Mobile Application and Amazon Q Developer in Slack or Microsoft Teams. Additional recipients can be added via email addresses or distribution lists, replacing the default root email address. This flexibility aims to reduce inbox clutter and improve response times for critical issues. The feature is available in all AWS Commercial Regions where AWS Marketplace operates.
To enable the new notifications, partners must visit the AWS User Notifications console and select their preferred categories and delivery methods. The setup process replaces the previous single-channel approach, allowing granular control over notification routing. AWS emphasizes that the default remains email to the root address unless modified. Documentation provides guidance on managing these settings.
The update addresses longstanding feedback from partners seeking better notification management. By aligning alerts with team responsibilities, AWS aims to streamline workflows and reduce missed critical communications. Partners are encouraged to review the AWS Marketplace documentation for detailed instructions on configuring category-based notifications.
