A fresh look for Bitbucket Pipelines
Atlassian has refreshed the Bitbucket Pipelines interface to improve log readability and navigation, while maintaining existing configurations and data.
Atlassian has updated the Bitbucket Pipelines interface with a visual refresh aimed at enhancing readability and usability. The changes primarily affect the Pipelines list and Pipeline result pages, making it easier to locate specific steps and navigate runs. The update does not alter underlying configurations, builds, data, runners, variables, deployments, or integrations, as the core functionality remains unchanged.
The refresh focuses on improving the display of pipeline logs, where developers typically investigate runs and determine next steps. The new design ensures logs are easier to read and navigate, with controls positioned to avoid obstructing the output. Users can now move through logs more efficiently while maintaining focus on relevant steps.
A new feature allows environment variables to be defined in one step and accessed in subsequent steps within the same pipeline workflow. This addresses a previous limitation where sharing variables between steps required manual workarounds or additional configuration.
Atlassian also introduced Rovo, an AI assistant integrated into Bitbucket Pipelines, to help diagnose build failures. Rovo provides clear explanations for failures and suggests fixes, streamlining the debugging process for developers.
