Codespaces transformed local development for GitHub staff, reducing environment setup time from 45 minutes to under 60 seconds with a few clicks. The cloud-powered tool eliminated the need for local builds, improving efficiency and developer satisfaction. GitHub Copilot further accelerated workflows, with users completing tasks 55% faster and reporting higher job satisfaction by staying focused on meaningful work.

Discoverability and collaboration were enhanced through Issues and Projects, which centralize planning and tracking for distributed teams. The adoption of new code search and code view features helped developers navigate GitHub’s large codebase, improving cross-team collaboration.
