Connect more of your apps to Search
Google Search’s AI Mode now lets users link apps like Instacart, Canva, and YouTube Music to streamline tasks such as shopping, design, and playlist creation directly within search results.
Google Search’s AI Mode now supports direct integration with select third-party apps, allowing users to perform tasks like adding groceries to an Instacart cart or saving playlists to YouTube Music without leaving the search interface. The feature is rolling out this week in the U.S. and is designed to reduce the need to switch between apps or browser tabs. Users can link supported services through AI Mode and interact with them seamlessly during their search sessions. Google states the integrations prioritize security and user control over data sharing.
The new functionality is part of Google’s broader effort to embed productivity tools within Search, complementing existing features like Personal Intelligence. For example, users planning an event can ask AI Mode to generate a grocery list and then directly add items to an Instacart cart. Similarly, designers can request Canva templates and preview options within Search, streamlining creative workflows. Google emphasizes that responses will become more tailored as users connect additional apps over time.
YouTube Music users can now curate playlists in AI Mode and save them directly to their library with a single command, eliminating the need to manually transfer tracks. Canva integration allows users to browse templates and generate design concepts without leaving Search, while Instacart’s inclusion simplifies grocery shopping by enabling cart additions from search results. Google notes these features are designed to work with existing account permissions, ensuring continuity for users already logged into their preferred services.
The rollout begins this week in the U.S., with Google confirming more partner apps will be added in the future. Users can access the integrations by navigating to AI Mode in Search and linking their accounts. Google advises reviewing privacy settings and app permissions before enabling connections. The company also invites users to subscribe to its newsletters for updates on new features and partner additions.
