Agentic systems are transitioning from pilot phases to production in enterprises, but organizations with strict data sovereignty or security mandates face deployment barriers when using public clouds. Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) air-gapped solutions address this by allowing frontier models, hardened security, and high performance to operate directly within sovereign environments. The latest GDC innovations eliminate the need to compromise between data control and AI capabilities, enabling organizations to deploy modern agentic systems where their most sensitive data resides.

Google is expanding GDC air-gapped capabilities across three pillars: sovereign AI and enterprise search, next-generation infrastructure, and an ISV partner ecosystem. New features include enterprise search powered by Gemini, support for open-weight models, turnkey ISV applications, and next-generation accelerated infrastructure. The updated IaaS stack delivers high-performance compute, networking, and security to run AI and traditional workloads simultaneously without performance degradation.

The GDC technology stack transforms isolated infrastructure into a modern agentic innovation platform by combining foundational and open model flexibility with intuitive user experiences and high-performance data processing. Organizations can now run memory-intensive enterprise workloads alongside AI systems on the same infrastructure, supported by an elevated security and performance foundation. Familiar software tools and developer environments are being brought natively to GDC, allowing teams to adopt AI without disrupting existing workflows.

Google is expanding the GDC partner marketplace with ISVs including Teradata, Solo.io, and Mattermost to enhance capabilities in regulated and air-gapped environments. Teradata’s integration enables joint customers to perform complex analytical workloads and AI inferencing within sovereign cloud infrastructure, maintaining data privacy and analytical rigor. These partnerships underscore GDC’s role in bridging sovereign cloud infrastructure with enterprise-grade intelligence while preserving compliance and control.
