Googlebook is a new premium laptop line designed to work closely with Android phones, enabling users to seamlessly transition tasks between devices. The laptops feature advanced AI tools, including Gemini, and are built on a shared Android foundation for enhanced integration. Pre-orders are open now, with devices shipping from October 4 in the U.S. and select international markets. Pricing starts at $899, positioning the laptops as a high-end option for productivity and creativity.

The laptops are engineered to run on the Android technology stack and ChromeOS foundations, optimized for Gemini Intelligence and Android phone compatibility. Initial models are produced by Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, offering a range of hardware choices. Premium materials like aluminum and carbon fiber are used, alongside features such as OLED displays, haptic trackpads, and backlit keyboards. Under the hood, they include top-tier processors from Intel and Qualcomm, NPUs capable of over 45 TOPS, and up to 14 hours of battery life.

Googlebook introduces the Glowbar, a lighting feature that illuminates at startup, displays battery levels, and reacts to interactions with Gemini. The laptops prioritize security with a Level 5 security-certified pKVM hypervisor, isolating Linux environments for safe developer tool usage. They also include 12 months of Google AI Pro with 5TB cloud storage, Gemini Advanced tools, and three months of YouTube Premium and Adobe Photoshop.

The laptops support a hybrid workflow by combining desktop-class Chrome browser features with millions of Android apps, including optimized versions for large screens. Users can run native creative tools like Adobe Photoshop and CapCut, stream content offline, and access AAA games with a complimentary year of GeForce NOW. For developers, Googlebook includes Antigravity, an AI agent development platform, and a full terminal environment for tools like Claude Code.
