Google Play’s Gamescom presence spans August 26–30 in Cologne, marking its most extensive showcase to date. The event highlights cross-platform gaming with 12 titles playable across mobile, tablet, foldable, and PC devices. Attendees can engage in live tournaments climbing the Play League leaderboard, while Diamond+ members gain access to the MVP Lounge for exclusive networking and relaxation.
A centerpiece of the showcase is The Quest, an interactive treasure hunt where participants complete challenges to unlock a gacha machine offering over 53,000 prizes. Custom profile avatars can be created at a dedicated photo booth, and attendees can experience Google Play’s ‘play anywhere’ promise through seamless cross-screen gameplay demonstrations.
Exclusive hands-on demos will feature unreleased titles such as 9 Kings and DuneCrawl, playable on multiple device types including foldables. The event underscores Google Play’s commitment to accessibility, with premium and free-to-play games available for immediate testing by visitors.
For those unable to attend, Google Play will launch the Play Dimension mini game on August 27, allowing remote participation. The initiative reflects Google Play’s broader push to integrate gaming across platforms and engage players both in-person and online.
