Kuehne+Nagel invests in new Container Freight Station in Cambodia
Kuehne+Nagel will open a new Container Freight Station in Phnom Penh by June 2027, expanding warehouse capacity to over 20,000 sqm to support rising trade volumes in Cambodia.
Kuehne+Nagel has announced a new Container Freight Station (CFS) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, scheduled for completion in June 2027. The facility will provide more than 20,000 square metres of warehouse space, enabling customers to handle increased trade volumes and improve cargo movement within Cambodia and across Southeast Asia. The investment aligns with Cambodia’s expanding trade infrastructure, including Phnom Penh Autonomous Port and Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, which handled approximately 600,000 and 1.3 million TEUs respectively in 2025.
The new CFS will be strategically located near key transport hubs, including Phnom Penh Autonomous Port, Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, Phnom Penh International Airport, and cross-border road links to Thailand and Vietnam. This positioning aims to streamline cargo flows across Cambodia and support regional logistics operations. David Roussiere, Managing Director for Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar at Kuehne+Nagel, stated that the investment will more than triple the company’s CFS capacity in Cambodia and enhance its logistics capabilities in the country.
The facility is designed for cargo consolidation and handling, featuring a raised-floor warehouse with loading doors, dock levellers, and a floor loading capacity of five tonnes per square metre. It is expected to meet ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards. Sustainability measures include solar panels, skylight roofing, LED lighting, battery-operated forklifts, water infiltration systems, and rainwater management infrastructure.
The investment reflects Kuehne+Nagel’s focus on expanding logistics infrastructure in high-growth markets to support regional and international trade. As one of the world’s leading logistics providers, the company operates over 1,300 sites in nearly 100 countries with approximately 88,000 employees. Headquartered in Switzerland and listed on the Zurich stock exchange, Kuehne+Nagel is the global leader in Air and Sea Logistics and holds strong positions in Road and Contract Logistics.
