Lenovo’s repairable ThinkPad devices, designed with accessible internal layouts and replaceable parts, now offer IT leaders an alternative to disposable IT. The ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 and T16 Gen models, powered by Intel Core Ultra processors, earned rare 10/10 repairability scores from iFixit. These devices feature user-replaceable batteries, keyboards, and LPCAMM2 memory, alongside clear repair documentation and readily available spare parts. Premium models like the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 Aura Edition and X1 2-in-1 Gen 11 Aura Edition also prioritize repairability, earning 9/10 scores from iFixit due to Lenovo’s Space Frame design.
Lenovo’s new report highlights how repairable devices transform the traditional linear device lifecycle into a ‘device lifespiral,’ enabling organizations to reclaim value. The report outlines how regenerative IT models can reduce unnecessary replacements, extend device lifespans, and lower lifetime costs.
