Introducing the Edits Film Festival to Spotlight India's Emerging Creator Talent
Meta launches the Edits Film Festival in India, inviting creators to submit cinematic Reels made using the Edits app over 45 days, with top entries screened and featured.
Meta has announced the Edits Film Festival, a 45-day initiative inviting Indian creators to submit original Reels made entirely on the Edits app, transforming everyday footage into cinematic content. The festival challenges participants to reimagine unpolished clips, leveraging Edits’ features to enhance storytelling. Submissions will be judged by a jury of creators, actors, and film professionals, with winners selected for recognition and exclusive app access.
The festival aims to highlight India’s emerging creator talent and celebrate their ability to turn ordinary moments into compelling narratives. A jury including Nikhil Taneja of Yuvaa will evaluate entries based on uniqueness, storytelling, and creative use of Edits’ tools. The top 10–20 Reels will be screened at an exclusive event, with creators featured on Meta’s official social media channels.
Ankit Rihal, Head of Global Partnerships at Meta India, emphasized the festival’s role in empowering creators to explore cinematic potential in everyday footage. The initiative reflects Meta’s focus on supporting India’s growing creator economy by providing a platform for fresh voices and innovative content. Judges will prioritize submissions that demonstrate originality and technical skill in using Edits’ features.
Meta has assembled a diverse jury to assess submissions, including industry professionals and established creators. Winners will receive recognition and early access to upcoming Edits app features. The festival underscores Meta’s commitment to fostering creativity and collaboration within India’s digital content ecosystem.
