Vercel Connect now supports Microsoft
Vercel has introduced a managed connector for Microsoft within Vercel Connect, enabling apps and agents to access Microsoft services such as Teams and OneDrive without manual app registration or secret management.
Vercel Connect now includes a managed connector for Microsoft, allowing applications and agents to integrate with Microsoft products like Teams, OneDrive, and others. The connector handles Entra application registration and federated credentials automatically, eliminating the need for developers to create app registrations or manage client secrets manually. This reduces administrative overhead while maintaining security standards.
To use the connector, authorize the application once for the Microsoft tenant, then attach it to specific projects and environments as needed. The connector can be added to a project's production environment, enabling token-based authentication only when required. The @vercel/connect SDK authenticates using the deployment's OIDC identity and issues short-lived tokens scoped to the granted application permissions.
Tokens are automatically refreshed and limited to requested scopes, reducing the risk of credential leaks or the need for manual rotation. For actions requiring user-specific permissions, the token can be issued on behalf of a designated user, inheriting their delegated permissions. This flexibility supports both application-level and user-level access patterns.
The Microsoft connector is available in beta across all Vercel plans, with features and behavior subject to change before general availability. Usage is governed by the Beta Agreement and Vercel Connect terms. Developers can refer to the Vercel Connect documentation to begin implementation.
