Naval Group is advancing multiple innovations to lower the environmental footprint of its ships. Surface vessels now incorporate exhaust reduction systems, while frigates use more efficient propulsion to cut energy consumption. Submarines like the Barracuda-class achieve an 80% compaction rate for non-biodegradable waste. Other measures include replacing lead-acid batteries with lithium-ion alternatives, improving onboard waste management, and phasing out technologies that release toxic substances into water.
