Naval Group has officially named its modular multipurpose launcher (LMP) as Rampart, a change from its previous acronym to enhance recognition and promotion in global markets. The new name, inspired by fortifications, underscores the launcher’s role in securing naval platforms and strategic sites such as military bases. This rebranding aligns with the launcher’s modular and adaptable design, intended to address evolving threats. The announcement follows successful firing tests conducted at Canjuers in late May, demonstrating the launcher’s capabilities in both guided and unguided 68 mm rocket configurations.

The firing trials at Canjuers, attended by the Directorate General of Armaments and armed forces representatives, validated the launcher’s performance and modular approach. The tests involved laser-guided and non-guided 68 mm rockets in a ground-to-ground setup, confirming the demonstrator’s operational relevance. Rampart, when paired with the Close-in Fire Management Post (PGLCP), manages the entire fire loop, from threat detection to automatic target tracking and engagement. The launcher’s integration with existing systems highlights its role in enhancing defense capabilities for naval and land-based platforms.

Rampart’s modular architecture allows for rapid adaptation to different mission requirements, supporting both naval and land-based defense scenarios. The launcher’s ability to operate alongside complementary systems, such as the PGLCP, ensures a streamlined and responsive defense mechanism.
