Firebird, an AI cloud provider, inaugurated the CIS region’s largest AI factory in Armenia, marking a significant expansion of regional AI infrastructure. The facility is powered by NVIDIA’s accelerated computing and Dell Technologies’ high-performance systems, enabling large-scale AI model training, fine-tuning, and deployment. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Zhaslan Madiyev, and U.S. Chargé d’Affaires David Allen attended the opening ceremony, underscoring international interest in the project.

The Armenia-based AI factory will deploy more than 70,000 NVIDIA Rubin and Blackwell GPUs and 300 megawatts of capacity by the end of 2027, positioning Armenia as a regional hub for AI research and innovation. Firebird co-founder Alexander Yesayan stated the company aims to reach approximately 2 gigawatts of global AI capacity within two years, with Armenia as a key node. Energy efficiency is central to the design, utilizing NVIDIA’s DSX platform to optimize power and cooling while maximizing computational output.

Firebird’s expansion extends beyond Armenia, with plans to develop a 2-gigawatt AI infrastructure roadmap across Armenia, Kazakhstan, and other frontier markets. NVIDIA announced plans to invest in Firebird, following an earlier investment by CoreWeave, to support the company’s global infrastructure growth. Schneider Electric provided critical power infrastructure, including medium- and low-voltage switchgear and uninterruptible power systems, enabling rapid deployment of the facility’s compute resources.

Vertiv supplied the cooling architecture for the AI factory, combining chilled-water technology and advanced controls to manage thermal demands efficiently. Early demand is driven by AI-native companies like Perplexity, which is collaborating with Firebird to access high-performance AI infrastructure. The facility leverages NVIDIA’s total AI factory platform and Dell PowerEdge servers, aiming to connect Armenian developers and enterprises to the global AI economy.
