ONE SAMURAI 4 Update: Three Fights Impacted By Weigh-Ins & Hydration Tests
Three bouts were impacted by weigh-ins and hydration tests at ONE SAMURAI 4, leading to changes on the fight card in Tokyo.
The semifinal match of the ONE SAMURAI Featherweight Kickboxing Tournament between Marat Grigorian and Luo Chao was removed from the card after Luo failed to meet the 155-pound limit within the three-hour window. Efforts to reschedule the bout as a catchweight contest also fell through, leaving the tournament without one semifinalist.
Rifdean Masdor, originally set to challenge Nadaka Yoshinari for the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship, missed weight but later passed hydration tests at 118.6 pounds. The five-round title fight will proceed, though Masdor is ineligible to win the belt due to missing the weight limit.
Rukiya Anpo, scheduled to face Bogdan Shumarov in a lightweight kickboxing match, also failed to make weight. The Japanese fighter must pass hydration tests and reweigh before negotiations with Shumarov can resume regarding the bout.
The weigh-ins and hydration tests on October 16 in Tokyo resulted in multiple adjustments to the fight card for ONE SAMURAI 4, with three bouts directly affected by weight compliance issues.
