Palo Alto Networks and AT&T Business announced Secure Connectivity solutions for business customers, combining Prisma SD-WAN’s cryptographic innovation with AT&T’s global network to create a Quantum-Resilient SASE Fabric. The partnership addresses the growing threat posed by quantum computing, which could render classical encryption methods like RSA obsolete by enabling rapid decryption of data previously considered secure. By embedding Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) into the Prisma SASE fabric, the solution aims to future-proof enterprise security without requiring disruptive hardware upgrades, instead relying on a software-defined, standards-based approach.
AT&T emphasized the necessity of inherent security within its network infrastructure, particularly for regulated industries, as quantum threats loom closer. The company highlighted its expertise in managing diverse connectivity underlays, including 5G, fiber, and legacy systems, to ensure security is embedded at the transport layer. The collaboration leverages AT&T’s Service Provider Interconnect (SPI) to integrate Palo Alto Networks’ security platforms natively with AT&T’s private network core, enabling direct, high-performance quantum-safe connections without relying on slower public internet tunnels.
The solution targets the modern distributed business landscape, where security perimeters have shifted to remote edges such as retail locations, clinics, and warehouse hubs. By utilizing AT&T’s WAN and 5G technologies, the partners deploy Hybrid Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to secure these decentralized points. Hybrid PKI issues dual credentials—classical and quantum-resistant—to each device, ensuring compatibility with existing systems while providing protection against future quantum decryption or identity spoofing attacks.
