The author tests daily mods for GTA 5, aiming to either replicate GTA 6 features or break the game entirely. Today’s chosen mod, WeedFarm (based on PlantationV), promised a full farming system but failed to deliver. The mod’s farms and dealer were present, but harvesting buds proved impossible due to unresolvable control conflicts.

The mod’s controls were locked to F3 for its menu, which also triggered a street golfing mod and a jetpack prompt. Every attempt to open WeedFarm’s menu instead launched golfing or jetpack equipment, preventing any farming progress. The dealer NPC offered no workaround, leaving the author unable to engage with the mod’s intended mechanics.

Frustration led to aggressive interactions with the dealer’s door, revealing an unintended side effect: all melee attacks now detonate on impact. The cause of this change remains unexplained, adding another layer of unpredictability to the modded experience.

The author reflects on a long history with gaming, from early Quake 2 sessions to writing about CRPGs and immersive sims. Despite the modding setback, the pursuit of experimental gameplay continues, with future updates promised for tomorrow’s discoveries.
