Valheim devs finally get around to reading 5 years of player feedback, let you remap dodge key
Valheim developers have introduced key rebinding options, including a single-tap dodge key, after five years of player feedback.
For the past five years, players could only dodge in Valheim by holding block, pressing jump, and selecting a direction, making the maneuver cumbersome. The game’s developers have now addressed long-standing feedback by allowing players to remap the dodge key to a single-tap configuration. This change applies to both keyboard and controller setups, simplifying a core combat mechanic. The update also includes additional key rebinding options for the radial wheel and hotbar.
Alongside the dodge key update, Valheim’s developers have implemented a toggle to disable the intro cinematic, a feature introduced with the 1.0 release last week. This addresses a newer but frequently requested quality-of-life improvement. Players can now skip the cinematic entirely, streamlining the game’s startup process. The patch also includes bug fixes, particularly for the Valheim cheat-flagging feature, which had mislabeled some players and resources.
