Meet Razer Clio X: The Wireless Speaker Head Cushion That Delivers THX® Spatial Audio
Razer introduces the Clio X, a wireless speaker head cushion that attaches to gaming chairs to deliver rear surround sound without a headset, featuring THX Spatial Audio and HyperSpeed wireless.
Razer has unveiled the Clio X, a wireless speaker head cushion designed to attach to most high-back gaming chairs, enabling rear surround sound without requiring a headset. The device will debut at PAX West 2026, running from September 4 to 7, and integrates THX Spatial Audio for immersive rear-channel audio. Razer positions the Clio X as a solution for gamers seeking enhanced audio immersion without the constraints of wired headsets or limited speaker setups.
The Clio X incorporates a near-field speaker design with dual 38mm full-range drivers and 55mm passive radiators, angled toward the listener’s ears to focus audio from behind. It supports THX Spatial Audio’s acoustic widening modes, which expand the soundstage for more realistic audio in games, movies, and music. A built-in USB Type-C cable stores within the cushion’s rear pouch, allowing for a tidy setup while maintaining connectivity to power sources.
Wireless audio is delivered via Razer’s HyperSpeed 2.4 GHz technology, eliminating the need for console or PC cabling and providing low-latency performance. The device can be powered by any USB-C PD 2.0 power bank, offering up to 40 hours of wireless use, though actual battery life depends on the power bank’s capacity and usage patterns. This flexibility allows users to game or watch content without tethering to a power outlet.
Designed for broad compatibility, the Clio X features an adjustable 30–65 cm nylon strap and plush foam cushion, fitting most high-back gaming and office chairs. It can function as a standalone primary speaker for headset-free gaming or pair with a soundbar or 2.0/2.1 speaker system in Surround Mode to create a THX-powered rear surround experience.
