REDMAGIC traces its cooling advancements from the 2018 REDMAGIC, the first gaming phone with a dedicated cooling system, through successive models featuring active fans, liquid cooling, and vapor chambers. Each iteration addressed heat dissipation challenges posed by slimmer designs and high-performance processors, with early systems like the ICE 4.0 in the REDMAGIC 5 Series increasing cooling surface area by 55% and airflow by 30%.
The REDMAGIC 7 Series introduced UDC technology and dual air intake slots, while the 8 Series incorporated layered vapor chambers and dedicated graphing layers to manage heat from sustained gameplay. The 9 Series further refined cooling with Frost Cooling Gel and larger chambers, reducing temperatures by up to 18°C in the 9 Pro.
The 10 Series adopted solid-state liquid metal, a breakthrough alloy with 80 W/mK thermal conductivity, integrated between fans and vapor chambers to rapidly transfer heat.
