Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is wrapping things up with one last big update that adds in new game plus and a throwback to the original game
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced concludes major updates with a new game plus mode, nightmare difficulty, and revived animations from the original game.
Ubisoft has delivered the final major update for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, shifting focus to smaller quality-of-life improvements. The update introduces a new game plus mode, allowing players to restart the game up to five times with increasing difficulty. Each playthrough retains tools, weapons, Jackdaw upgrades, and other progression, offering a fresh challenge for dedicated players.
A new nightmare difficulty mode accompanies the update, described as a brutal survival experience where enemies react faster and hit harder. Parrying timing is tightened, one-shot kill protection is removed, and stealth mechanics are stricter, with faster movement triggering enemy detection. The mode intensifies combat and reduces safety nets for unprepared players.
Community-requested rewards are now hidden in community chests scattered across the game, with some offering special items. The update also reintroduces classic takedown animations from the original Assassin's Creed, including hidden blade, unarmed, single sword, and gunblade variants. Additional cosmetics and a range of bug fixes are included.
This update arrives amid reports that Ubisoft Singapore, the lead developer behind Black Flag Resynced, laid off 70 workers. The studio's role in the game's development was not detailed in the announcement. Players can review full patch notes on Ubisoft's official website.
