Ubisoft are making layoffs at Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced studio Ubisoft Singapore while closing Trials creators Redlynx
Ubisoft plans to close Trials studio Redlynx in Finland and lay off staff at Ubisoft Singapore, affecting up to 52 and 70 positions respectively.
Ubisoft has confirmed plans to close Redlynx, the Finnish studio behind the Trials arcade racing series, potentially affecting up to 52 positions. The closure is subject to negotiations under Finnish labour laws. Ubisoft cited the studio’s lack of current projects as a factor in the decision, following earlier cuts in October 2025 that redirected Redlynx toward mobile development.
The company also announced layoffs at Ubisoft Singapore, impacting approximately 70 roles to align the studio with upcoming production needs. Ubisoft emphasized that the Singapore team remains integral to its global production network despite the reductions.
Redlynx, founded in 2000 and acquired by Ubisoft in 2011, is known for the Trials series, which gained popularity for its physics-based gameplay and challenging tracks. The studio has recently supported other Ubisoft projects, including *The Division 2* and *Star Wars: Outlaws*.
Ubisoft Singapore, established in 2008, has contributed to multiple *Assassin’s Creed* titles and led development on *Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced*. The studio’s work has included naval simulation *Skull and Bones*, which faced significant delays. Ubisoft has not disclosed further details about the restructuring.
