Spotify has unveiled SongDNA, a feature within the Now Playing view that allows Premium subscribers to explore songwriters, producers, and samples behind tracks with a single tap. The tool also highlights covers inspired by the original songs, offering listeners deeper insight into the music they enjoy. With over 100 million users already engaging with the feature, Spotify emphasizes its growing popularity among fans seeking a closer connection to artists and their work.
The platform’s Concerts Near You playlist, updated weekly, curates 30 songs from artists performing in a user’s vicinity based on listening habits. Each track row expands to display full event details and a direct link to ticket purchases. Spotify advises users to enable notifications, update the app, and set their location in the Live Events Feed to ensure they don’t miss performances by their favorite artists.
Lyrics remain a highly used feature on Spotify, with hundreds of millions of views daily. Recent updates include translation options, offline lyrics, and new lyrics previews for easier access. Additionally, music videos in beta have been expanded to Premium users in the U.S. and Canada, offering official videos, live performances, and covers directly within the app.
Reserved is a new experience for eligible Premium subscribers aged 18 and older in the U.S. and Canada, designed to reward dedicated fans. Using signals like streams, saves, and shares, Spotify identifies an artist’s biggest supporters and reserves two tour tickets for them before general sale. The feature aims to provide early access to tickets as a gesture of appreciation for loyal listeners.
