Sunrun Reports Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2025 Financial Results

Sunrun announced its fourth quarter and full-year 2025 financial results, highlighting a net change in cash and restricted cash of $290 million for the year. The company also reported cash generation of $377 million in 2025 and projected positive cash generation between $250 million and $450 million for 2026. Total revenue for 2025 reached $2.96 billion, a 45% increase from the prior year, driven by higher energy systems and product sales revenue.
The company added 25,475 subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2025, bringing its total subscriber base to 997,280, a 12% increase from the end of 2024. Storage capacity installed in Q4 2025 was 371 megawatt hours, while solar capacity installed was 216 megawatts, reflecting a 5% and 11% decrease, respectively, compared to the same period in 2024. Sunrun also reported a storage attachment rate of 71% in Q4 2025, up from 62% in the prior year.
Sunrun’s CEO Mary Powell emphasized the company’s focus on storage-first energy solutions to address rising utility costs and grid reliability concerns. The company reported strong margins, with Upfront Net Subscriber Values improving by 6 percentage points to 7% in 2025. Sunrun also reduced recourse debt by $148 million while increasing its unrestricted cash balance by $248 million during the year.
For the first quarter of 2026, Sunrun expects aggregate subscriber value to range between $850 million and $950 million, with contracted net value creation projected between $25 million and $125 million. The company anticipates positive cash generation in Q1 2026 and full-year cash generation of $250 million to $450 million for 2026.
