LongCat 2.5 now available on AI Gateway
Meituan’s LongCat 2.5, a multimodal coding agent model, is now accessible via Vercel’s AI Gateway, enabling extended workflows across complex codebases and design tasks.
LongCat 2.5 from Meituan integrates native visual understanding with coding and multi-step tool use, designed to assist agents working across large codebases and full-project builds. The model supports text and image inputs and features a 1M-token context window for handling code, documents, and extended task histories. Meituan emphasizes improvements in visual programming, creative design, and 3D tasks, as well as longer agent workflows that span planning to execution. This positions the model as a tool for engineering workflows requiring both visual and code-based reasoning.
To use LongCat 2.5, developers must install the latest Vercel CLI, run the setup, and select the model in supported coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. The process is streamlined through AI Gateway, which provides a unified API for model access, usage tracking, and cost management. The setup also includes configuration options for retries, failover, and performance optimizations to enhance uptime beyond provider defaults.
AI Gateway offers additional features such as built-in custom reporting, Zero Data Retention support, and budget controls for API keys. Routing rules and other configurations are available to optimize performance and manage costs. The platform reflects provider pricing without markup and does not charge a platform fee on inference, including for Bring Your Own Key requests.
Users can view all language models available on AI Gateway, including LongCat 2.5, through the platform’s interface. The integration aims to simplify access to advanced multimodal models while providing tools for monitoring, cost control, and reliability. Vercel positions AI Gateway as a centralized solution for developers working with multiple AI models and agents.
