Mistral Large 4 now available on AI Gateway
Vercel’s AI Gateway now supports Mistral Large 4, enabling multimodal reasoning via a single API key without requiring a separate Mistral account.
Mistral Large 4, an open-weight multimodal model, is now accessible through Vercel’s AI Gateway, allowing users to integrate text and image understanding without additional account setup. The model supports cyber defense, manufacturing, and finance workflows, expanding practical applications for developers. Access is provided via a unified API key, simplifying authentication compared to managing separate provider credentials.
Integration options include the AI SDK, OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions API, Responses API, or Anthropic Messages API, offering flexibility for different development environments. For coding agents, the model can be selected by running a setup command and configuring the agent’s model settings accordingly. This streamlines deployment for teams using automated coding workflows.
The AI Gateway serves as a single interface for calling models, tracking usage and costs, and managing routing, retries, and failover mechanisms. Users can leverage an AI Gateway API key or supply their own provider key, providing control over authentication and billing. This centralizes model interactions while maintaining compatibility with existing tools.
