GPT-6.1 Terra now available on AI Gateway

Vercel’s AI Gateway now supports OpenAI’s GPT-6.1 Terra, a model optimized for visual reasoning, computer use, and writing tasks. The model improves upon its predecessor in accuracy, coding, and factual responses, making it suitable for high-volume document and desktop application workflows. It accepts both text and images as input and returns text outputs, with a context window exceeding 1 million tokens. GPT-6.1 Terra is designed for efficiency in tasks such as form filling, technical drawing interpretation, and invoice data entry into accounting software.

For developers requiring faster response times, a fast mode is available under the identifier openai/gpt-6.1-terra-fast. The model integrates with the AI SDK, OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions API, Responses API, and coding agents connected to AI Gateway.
