Action Roguelite Shape of Dreams Launches on XBOX Today With its Biggest Update Yet
Shape of Dreams launches on Xbox Series X|S with Xbox Game Pass and a major update, The Starless Path, introducing new content and a ninth Traveler.
Shape of Dreams, a co-op action roguelite, is now available on Xbox Series X|S and included with Xbox Game Pass from launch day. The game invites players to explore a dreamscape that reshapes itself with each run, offering fast-paced combat and deep build variety. Nine distinct Travelers, each with unique weapons, abilities, and stories, allow for varied playstyles and replayability. The game supports solo play or online co-op for up to four players, with cross-play enabled from day one.
The Starless Path, the largest update yet, launches simultaneously with the Xbox release. It introduces Cetus, a new Traveler who manipulates frost to control the battlefield and deal burst damage. The update also adds a new path, The Way of Stars, which connects Traveler episodes into constellations, unlocking exclusive content and a new ending. Six shared Identity Memories have been added, altering core playstyles, while heroic bosses now feature harder attack patterns at higher difficulties.
Shape of Dreams originally launched on Steam in September 2025 and has since undergone significant improvements. The Xbox version incorporates all updates made over the past year, including Limbo, an endgame difficulty beyond Nightmare, and new shrines for build customization. Critical strike mechanics have been overhauled, and a balance pass on Memories and Essences has expanded viable builds. Performance and stability updates are also included, building directly on the Xbox version's foundation.
Xbox players receive immediate access to all features, including the console-exclusive Crimson Flash Lacerta costume, available at no cost to all Xbox players, including Game Pass members. The game's launch marks a year since its initial release, with over 1.5 million players having explored the dreamscape to date.
