Available for XBOX Insiders: Home Improvements, Local Save Game Management, and Profile Badges

Xbox Insiders can now test console updates that enhance Home screen control, allowing players to remove items from the Recent Games and Apps list, including the Play History tile, via the Menu button. A new immersive background mode lets users focus on dynamic or custom backgrounds by pressing the right thumbstick button, removing UI distractions while retaining access to the Home screen. These features will first roll out to Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha members, with select updates available to all Insiders starting today.

Local game save management has been improved to address storage issues. Players can now view, sort, and delete unused local saves directly from Settings > System > Storage > Manage local game saves, or via notifications when space is insufficient. This prevents save file conflicts and ensures space for active game progress. Existing cloud backups remain unaffected, and saves sync automatically upon game launch, maintaining data security while offering greater storage transparency.

Profile badges now include detailed information, such as high-resolution artwork and unlock context, making it easier to understand achievements and milestones. This applies to both personal profiles and those of other players, providing clearer narratives behind badges earned through long-term Xbox use or community events. The update aims to celebrate player journeys with richer visual and contextual data.

To commemorate Xbox’s 25th anniversary, a new Day One profile badge will be awarded to players who unlocked the Xbox One Day One achievement on November 22, 2013. Additionally, purchased games will automatically remove themselves from wishlists, reducing manual management.
